Hi Joseph, are you aware how Amazon dilutes shareholders using Finance Leases? Both their stated Operating and Free Cash Flow are not representative. Finance leases in the last 5 years alone total 44 BILLION Dollars! Add to that their staggering Stock Based Compensation expense (as you already do) and their financials look much worse. They are going to make a ton of money in the future, but they are not all you make them out to be.

Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan seems to have inherited the same visionary myopia as former Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Jonathan Johnson. His prolonged detachment from reality has rendered him oblivious to glaring issues, particularly those visible to consumers. While he waxes poetic about a 'Starbucks experience,' one wonders what exactly he's referring to. Prices have soared while cup sizes have shrunk. The new store aesthetics are cold and uninviting, devoid of the once-beloved self-serve creamers and condiments. The quality of bakery goods is at a gas station level, yet absurderly priced. Perhaps Mr. Narasimhan should either reconnect with reality or consider rebranding his company "STARBUCKS BYE-BYE & BEYOND".

Strong BUY. Still early innings. NVIDIA is the dominant leader in AI and the preferred technology partner globally. Even w new competition on the horizon, NVIDIA is far ahead of the competition. 85% market share. 76% margin. Unrivaled demand for new Blackwell chip. Demand far exceeds production for Blackwell through to 2025 and beyond. No competitor has anything close to Blackwell. And forward P/E is about 33 (cheap for a high growth stock). Buy this stock and wait. You will be rewarded.

It's been dumping and pumping in this range for ages! It's technically just going sideways, sideways means generally stagnant. More emphasis should be put into day trading, as it less affected by the unpredictable nature of the market. Trading has been going smooth for me as I managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... The EU regulation is completely justified. US should follow suit as well. As someone who has experience in adtech, Meta and many ad companies over-collect personal info "just in case some future tech would need it to give them an edge. It's not hard to provided personalized ads without collecting the data they're collecting right now. With the innovation of private personal AI agents, it's even possible to have agents generate personalized queries directly using DSP APIs with zero data collection at SSP and/or DSP side. The best innovations happen under ethical constraints!

i love Joseph Carlson and I hate having to defend the EU, but what he is describing as a "profitless" business model is what we had for years on TV, radio, print and billboards... ads cast to a big net of users, without knowing with certainty who would see them. and that model made companies money, lots of it. pretending that model doesn't work is kind of a stretch. the difference is between profitable and MORE profitable (aka greed), not between profitable and unprofitable. Meta, Google, Amazon, etc want the targeted ads based on data so they can be even MORE profitable, not to avoid being unprofitable. a slight but very important difference.

..AI stocks will dominate 2024. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA. I'll also take these other recommendations you made.

Yes SMCI has outperformed Nvidia YTD, but it's a top SP500 performer with an asterisk. SMCI didn't join the SP500 until March of this year (2024) and it's actually down since it's inclusion. So unless a large cap fund manager was dabbling in small cap equities, it's unlikely that they would have captured any gains from SMCI.

Joseph Carlson, I love your videos but I feel when you got in to the stocks in your portfolio I think Nvidia did not gain complete momentum it was about to start. I feel Nvidia has outperformed most of the big techs in recent years which allowed portfolio managers to come up with a story

I managed to outperform SPY by 20% with a portfolio I barely focused on stock selecting but with pure luck. While around half the people can beat SPY in any given year, maintaining that success over long term to always stay in the upper half is very challenging.

Why you making a big deal about not adding new capital? Adding money won’t increase returns…in fact adding money would decrease the % return it shows….so it’s not a flex to say you didn’t add money like you were talking about

I’m up Nvda, CRWD, googl, ddog, meta, zscaler, mdb. I’m comfortable with tech so I’m doing tech. Going to start taking profits from Nvda at the end of the year and buy a house. 6 months from 100k to 307+. My goal is to make 500k by Dec 31, 2024. I’m starting to buy amzn bi-weekly.

I think fund managers are struggling because they spent years studying financials and how the market works just for silly people to hold stocks into ridiculous valuations that make no sense and make the market about stories and not fundamentals as mentioned in your previous video. I feel bad for them that they trained to b a professional in something that is becoming more and more for degenerates with no education.
